Sandra Rowney is a professional artist and teacher with a Masters degree in Art, Design and Education from the Norwich School of Art and Design, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and a background in teaching adults. Accommodation can be in Sandra's home in the city centre or in nearby Bed and Breakfast venues. Non-participating partners are welcome to accompany you. They have the pub on the corner of the road, the city nearby and a lounge or summerhouse to relax in. Residential, Cityscape Painting in Acrylics
Stage 1: Preparation
Outline Programme
Friday evening: Arrive 6pm and settle in. Evening meal at 7.30pm followed by an illustrated talk and discussion of planning for cityscape work in acrylics. Introduction to perspective, sketching and use of acrylics.
Saturday morning: Breakfast and then a short walk into the city centre to a venue decided by the group interests and the weather. Preparatory notes, colour charts, sketches and photographs will be constructed and we can discuss them over lunch at a cafe in the city.
Saturday late afternoon: Tea and relaxation then setting up studio painting area, starting with selection of images and initial drawings.
Saturday evening: Evening meal followed by individual sessions with the tutor to discuss sketches and painting plans.
Sunday: After breakfast the entire day will be tutor led and studio based painting your projects with acrylics on canvas. A light lunch and afternoon tea will be available in the studio.
The Stage 1 course will finish at 6pm
